Underwriting Process & Timeline

Once a property has been determined (your offer to purchase is accepted by the seller), the underwriting process usually takes around three weeks.

Your lender will:

  • Order an appraisal.
  • Complete a title search.
  • Order a flood plain determination.
  • Once the loan file is completed and the final underwriting approval is granted, your lender will contact you to set up a closing date and time.
  • You will need to provide proof of Home Owner’s Insurance to your lender before your closing date.
  • On closing date, you will be expected to bring valid identification and a cashier’s check for closing costs and down payment (if required).

If at any time you have a question, do not hesitate to call us or contact your lender.
